Resilient, Adaptable and Sustainable Communities (RSC) is non-profit charity organization

Resilient, Adaptable and Sustainable Communities (RSC) is a network of individuals working in and across Kayunga District to promote the rights and well-being of disadvantaged communities through rekindling and sustaining their potential. RSC is open to groups and individuals across the Kayunga District Local Government. As the main focus of our work is towards making communities robust and self-driven, a majority of our members come from groups and individuals who espouse the voluntary spirit and selflessness in serving communities.

What We Do?

We are committed to putting the rights and well-being of the disadvantaged in the communities we serve at the core of all our work.

Healthy Food

Ensuring access to nutritious food is fundamental to the rights and well-being of the disadvantaged. RSC likely works to combat food insecurity through initiatives such as food distribution programs, community gardens, nutrition education, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices that benefit local communities.

Pure Water

Access to safe and clean drinking water is critical for health and human dignity. RSC's work in this area would involve implementing projects to provide pure water sources, such as digging wells, installing water filtration systems, or promoting water sanitation and hygiene practices. This directly addresses health risks and improves the quality of life for communities that lack this basic necessity.

Health Care

RSC's commitment to the well-being of the disadvantaged means promoting holistic health. This extends beyond just treating illness to fostering environments and practices that prevent disease and enhance overall vitality. This could involve health education programs, community health initiatives, and advocating for policies that support public health for vulnerable populations.

Education Services

Education is a cornerstone of empowerment and a basic right. RSC's focus on primary education for the disadvantaged would involve efforts to remove barriers to schooling, such as lack of fees, uniforms, or learning materials. This might include supporting school enrollment, providing scholarships, establishing learning centers, or advocating for improved educational infrastructure and quality in underserved areas.

Residence Facilities

Secure and safe housing is a fundamental human right and crucial for well-being. RSC's commitment suggests involvement in providing or improving residence facilities for the disadvantaged. This could range from supporting housing initiatives for the homeless, improving living conditions in informal settlements, or advocating for affordable and adequate housing policies. The focus would be on ensuring dignified and safe living environments.

Social Care

This encompasses a broad range of support services aimed at improving the social functioning and well-being of individuals and families. For RSC, this would mean providing direct social support, such as counseling, psychological support, and advocacy for those experiencing discrimination or marginalization. It could also involve establishing support networks, protecting vulnerable individuals (e.g., children, the elderly, persons with disabilities) from abuse and neglect, and helping them navigate social systems to access their rights and entitlements.
